If you’re someone who is always on the internet, making the most of the bandwidth provided– you probably would have already got yourself a Jio.
Jio users for 4 months now feel privileged that a powerhouse of the internet rests in their pocket. Jio is now a part of every user’s life, making life digital.
This is how life has transformed from being ordinary to being digital.
Earlier sources of entertainment would rely on different channel schedules and we would have to watch a movie depending upon what was getting played on that channel. But now that Jio is in the picture, we can stream any movie at any time of the day. Why use any storage device to download contents when you can access everything online? Saves a lot of space, doesn’t it?
Indeed, downloading anything from the net with unlimited 4G speed internet has gotten easier. Downloading is now like a piece of cake when you’re getting a speed ranging from 10mbps to 18mbps, and if it’s your lucky day, it could even rise up to 23mbps. We have seen it happen before.
Making numerous tiring trips to retail shops that provide the desired top-up plans, or making separate online transactions for talk-time and data packs is now no longer needed. Jio has addressed these situations as calls are now made over data and there is no need for separate calling plans. Apps like Jio4GVoice have given a whole new experience for calling by offering direct video calling. Third party apps like IMO and Skype are not the only options to make rich video calls anymore, in fact switching from audio to video calls takes place seamlessly through Jio4GVoice.
Remember the times when you would have to switch off mobile data to prevent accidental usage of data? Or a hike on SMS charges while wishing people on special festival black out days? No longer do you have to worry about these anymore, with Jio all you get is true 4G internet (not any 3G internet renamed as 4G).
It is felt that people in relationships (with either a person or work) can get a lot out of this! Staying up late to make free night calls, call drops due to insufficient balance, and exhausted net packs were some of the technical glitches in a relationship. The all-time excuse, “Hey, sorry my balance is about to get exhausted, text you after recharging” – which was conveniently used to ignore people is sadly not going to work anymore.
Who would have thought (except for Mr. Mukesh Ambani) that there would be a time where calls could now be made free to any network all around India? Yes, it is free only for a limited time, but still the tariff plans after the offer as specified by the official Jio website seems to be less as compared to what is usually paid to other telecom service providers.
Imagine travelling anywhere in India using the internet, either on your phone or sharing the internet via hotspot on your laptop using JioFi, without being applicable to roaming charges. Even navigation has gotten easier with Jio. You can now explore Google maps to the fullest to reach your destination with live traffic updates (a must try feature).
Ever wondered if it was possible to carry your Wi-Fi router with you everywhere? It’s now possible with JioFi.
Got an old PC that is not compatible with Wi-Fi? This is no longer a dilemma; JioFi can make your old PC alive again. Earlier we had just one solution around this problem and that would be buying a modem and connecting through LAN, which created additional hurdles such as wire clusters and space organisation.
Jio has come up with a better solution, where the jioFi lets you connect to your desktop with an USB cable and tethering data is so much simpler. JioFi – which almost looks like a pebble is so small that desk organisation is no more an issue.
Laptops are not the only technology that is being distributed in school and colleges, free access to high speed internet has also joined the list. Reliance Jio has some perks for students too and plans to connect India’s schools and colleges with wireless broadband access.
This would definitely encourage e-learning. Internet plays a vital role in keeping yourself updated every now and then. Although most of us browse just to see what is trending, a lot of new skills can be picked-up online. Different sites provide different study materials, each of which would increase your knowledge. Learning over the net is easy when you can access the net with a speed that does not test your patience.
Earlier, students who had active data packs were cajoled or bullied into sharing their data through hotspots with annoying classmates. Even though this was an irksome and expensive affair, the student had to reluctantly agree to share his/her data anyways. Once Jio launched its services, everyone made sure that their annoying friends got their own hotspot connection – saved by Jio. Sharing data with annoying classmates is no longer annoying nor expensive.
It’s not only the students who are benefiting by getting digital tools & resources from institutions. Reliance has come up with a variety of LYF mobile handsets starting at a very reasonable rate. Think about what you could do with all the resources & tools now available to all Indians at minimal rates.
India is now Digital India and this Digitization started with a Welcome Offer from Jio on 5th September 2016. Believing that the offer would last only till 31st December, users rushed about downloading all they could, not knowing what plans Reliance Jio ha for them next. And then the announcement in mid-December, which started like a rumour, confirmed that Jio’s welcome offer has been extended till the 31st of March 2017. The extension period is called The Happy New Year offer.
The second offer is simply a revised version of the first offer. For users who were experiencing slow speeds due to the congestion in the network, the new offer is a break through. The New Year offer gives you 1GB of high speed data per day, which seems sufficient to carry out one’s daily data usage. It is rumoured that these services will be extended till 30th June. Although there is no official announcement claiming the extension of Happy New Year offer, but hopefully we can trust it to be true based on the past history of Reliance Jio. However, this extension period may not be free like the previous ones. Just an amount of Rs 100 is all that is required in order to avail this offer.
In case you haven’t already got your Jio, grab it now while the preview offer still exists and unleash the power of internet.

Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower ” is exactly what GITIC has been teaching us. GITIC – One of the 1st Incubators in Goa is a Govt. funded project initiated by the GCCI.
Proper attendance in class indicates good performance in academics. This has been possible after the launch of KAAVAY’s product – Kollege Nanny. The installation of this software in colleges has managed not only to reduce bunking in college but in turn benefits the student to achieve higher grades. This service is proved useful to most colleges as they face a common problem i.e. parents not knowing about attendance details of their child until the year end. An instance of this situation is the recent article about a college in Goa regarding withholding of results in a local newspaper.
